Kirin Video

A video to show what the Kirin fight is like. :)

Kirin short circuited and Teostra repelled!

Well it's been a busy week for me, to say the least my life is changing every minute. I just got a new car, which mean I'll probably be working more and stuff... bleh. I've also decided.. to take a break from World of Warcraft for a couple of weeks. I'm not really sure how many yet, but I want some time to catch up on my school work and get a bit of work in. This doesn't mean I will stop playing Monster Hunter 2, but I will be doing it a bit less. So expect delayed updates(Sorry ^^;).

Well in the last week, I went up against Kirin in MH2. This wasn't the first time I've fought him, but that didn't make it any easier. The thunder horse gave me a good match, making me use all of my potions, with low health remaining. In the end he meet his demise to my axe though. :)

Also I went to try my skills on another elder dragon this week. Teostra one of the elder fire dragons, to say the least has some amazing powers... like beyond anything I've fought so far. I thought Kushala Doara was hard, but I guess the mountain climb is just beginning. Basically this elder dragon has a fire aura that eats your life away. So I used some of the Kusha and Basarios pieces I had to make a armor suit that would negate some of the damage.
Sadly, even with it the aura does considerable damage. Not only do you have his aura to worry about, but he attacks with a speed greater than Kusha as well I believe. Another trick he will pull is his explosion field. First he'll emit some intense flames, click his fangs and explosions will randomly appear in one of three places, close to him, mid-range, and far-range. It is almost impossible for me to predict where they will land so I have to carry my sword and shield and block when apporiate. Other than that he has a fire breath attack that does about 3/4's health buffed, otherwise it will usually just one shot you, especially if he is in rage mode. So after many attempts and deaths, I repelled him twice. The kill will probably come later this week, but until then I have a challenge on my hands. :)

Kushala Doara Video

A video to show what the Kusha fight is like.. again this person has waay better armor and a better weapon. :)

Kushala Doara Down!

Went back for an attempt on Kusha, after getting some new armors! It was one of the most epic battles, I've had so far in monster hunter, but this time I came out on top! Sorry for the bad picture the lighting where I was playing was not quite suited for my camera phone, but I guess you can still see some of it. Kusha might would probably be the hardest dragon(other than fatalis) I've fought in monster hunter. Many of his attacks, like his frost breath almost immobilize you leaving you open to others. Position and dodging are key to this fight, one wrong step or dodge and you could be in biiiig trouble. Learning where to stand when he is in fly state, or ground state is almost as important as knowing when to attack him.

So I made some visuals..

So basically you can't stand where there is an X at, because if you do he will rape you with his frost breath.

Elder dragons are astonishing in the power they hold, because it took me two quests to actually kill the dragon. The first time I could only repel him, and afterwards I had to go back and do the quest again to finish him. Although I can tell I am learning how to fight him much better than I had. The first fight I used almost all of my potions to stay alive, the second time I only used like half. So the first elder dragon is down.. and now I must face the next one. I can garauntee the next fight won't be easy, but I know after downing Kusha, that no dragon is impossible for me to overcome. :)

Big Update

Yeah, I've accomplished a lot since the last update so I'll start first with some of the wyverns I've captured! ^_^

Black Diablos has been captured! It was a tough fight, but in the end he limped just the same as the others would. This is the first time I've encountered him, even though he was in the last game I never got far enough to actually fight him. I can say that he is no normal Diablos! Black Blos is much faster and enrages much quicker than the normal one. I broke both of his horns during the fight and hope to break more in the passing days.

Now for the next wyvern, father of Basarios is the Gravios! Well... not just any Gravios, but a Black one! His armor was extra tough making this fight almost impossible for melee weapons without high sharpness. Gravios could be one of the slowest wyvern in the game making him easy to kill or capture with a ranged weapon. Overall the fight was a bit fun. I didn't expect too much, but they're are much harder wyverns yet to be defeated. :)
As for my atempts at Kusha, all have ended in a swift death on my part, leaving me to wonder how to actually fight him. I've used most of the weapons I can think of, but this dragon is something else. He can freeze you, in a instant and most of his moves take away 1/2 to 3/4's of my health. I'm going to see if I can work on some new armor sets to upgrade so the fight might go easier. Although Garuga armor is a major improvement from Kut-Ku, I don't believe it is enough. Hopefully within the next update I'll have downed him. Until then.. remember when fighting Rathalos, it's all about the knee caps :)

Other wyverns downed/captured, but no photos:
Gravios: Downed
Azure Rathalos: Captured

Tigrex Video

Why do I like posting so much.. I've never really blogged before, ah well here's a tigrex video I decided to add to show what the fight is like. (Note: The fight took me a lot longer this guy has some insanely great armor.)

Yian Garuga Farming

Okay, so I haven't been too thrilled about fighting Kusha just yet. I've been farming the Yian Garuga for is awesome armor set, which I had back in the first monster hunter. Not only does it have a cool purplish look and fearsome helm, but in MH2 it also adds earplugs!!! Oh my god, I can't count how many times I've died because a wyvern screamed and I couldn't get out of the way of his next attack because my character was holding his ears. So I'll be farming the blademaster set and gunner set for the remainder of this week probably. After I should be good to go for Kusha. I made a Poison Battle Axe the other day, so that should take down his shield.

Here is a picture of the Garuga stuff.. the helmet I will be using is the one the 3rd person is using, along with the armor set.

Cookies and Diablos!

So while I was making cookies today I decided I would check in on my old friend Diablos from monster hunter freedom. He gave me a run for my money, but the fight for me was much easier this time. I decided to give my new water element bow a test run and wow! After loading the blos up with Pierce arrows he was flinching with almost every charged shot. I atempted to catch him, but he blew himself up on the explosives I laid out for him earlier in the fight. It was kind of funny and I actually felt sorry for the poor wyvern because he keep getting his horns stuck in rocks during the fight, eventually I shot one off, but didn't get a chance to get the other one. Well, I've finished many of the elder quests and I think the next target with be the legendary wind dragon Kushadora! They say he is harder than Tigrex, due mostly to the fact that you must keep him poisoned the entire fight or else he is protected by a wind shield. I've been working on a set of armor that enhances the effect of my poison battle axe. Hopefully I can expect good results. :)

Tigrex down!

It was a while ago, but I finally managed to overcome tigrex the signature wyvern of monster hunter 2. After many attempts and consumables I ended his days with the Ravager Blade+. Tigrex was different than a lot of other wyverns that I remember from the first game, with his unpredictable attack patterns and constant enraged state, I knew I was in for a challenge. This is only one of the weaker wyvern of the game. My friend(who has been playing this waaay longer than me), tells me of legendary wyverns that make tigrex look like a cake walk, hopefully once I obtain some better armors I can play with him on some of the guild missions. The picture from my PSP is blurry, because I took it with my phone, but I'm including a picture of tigrex as well. ^^

Monster Hunter 2

Is basically what this blog will mostly be about, and maybe some other things if I feel like it, I don't have much now for exploits, but I will add monsters, pictures and other things soon, so check in every often. :)
